It is really easy to take a verse out of context and use it as a standalone proof text. Many of those who do this only know a few verses that they use to backup what they believe. When confronted with the surrounding context and other passages that clearly refute their belief system, most of these people will ignore what the rest of Scripture teaches because they were raised in this system and they have no desire to learn anything beyond what their church teaches.

I continue to get pleas for help from people who have been lured into, and injured spiritually, by various cults. The damage is often tragic. Many people are seduced into aberrant groups by certain tactics that are used in order to recruit them. We often say: “It is a lot easier to join a cult than it is to leave a cult.”

It is hard to be a Christian in this world. Jesus said, “If the world hates you, you know that it has hated Me before it hated you” (John 15:18). Our adversary, Satan, “prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour” (1 Pet. 5:8).

The assassination of Charlie Kirk on September 10th was absolutely horrible! But it did not surprise me. Those who hate God will perform acts of evil because they "are full of evil and insanity in their hearts."

If the Bible is true and there is only one God, and this God came in the flesh in the person of Jesus to die for your sins, then what are you going to do about Him? Jesus said, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me" (John 14:6).

During an episode of Fox & Friends (August 19, 2025), President Trump called into the show and said, “I want to try and get to heaven, if possible.” He is worried that he will not go to heaven when he dies if he is unable to broker an end to the war in Ukraine. Trump acknowledged that he is no saint.

Is the rapture and the first resurrection the same event? The answer to this question depends on whether or not you believe the church replaced Israel, a common belief within Amillennialism.

Without God, we would not exist. But we do exist only because God, in the beginning, created the heavens and the earth and all that is in them (Gen. 1:1–31)

Am I alone in thinking that the majority of church goers today are Biblically illiterate and/or just plain ignorant? Is the church today neglecting sound doctrine for the sake of unity?
